Requirements The Business Development will lead the marketing, business development, and communication efforts for the Middle East region. This hands-on role will be important to help drive revenue and profile across the region, involving close liaison and coordination with the rest of the firm. This position will require personal leadership and drive to start, support and deliver initiatives with partners in the Dubai office and across the firm.
Role Plan and implement all marketing and business development activities for the Middle East, supporting the Dubai office and the wider Middle East region. In doing so, provide hands-on delivery and support as well as strategic advice for all related activities. Work with the business to track market, client trends and needs, to identify new business opportunities to build relationships with and win work from existing and prospective clients. Identify and agree on key priority targets and support partners to pro-actively pursue these, providing them with required background and client research. Recommend and implement techniques to build relationships and serve the client’s needs profitably, such as regular client reviews as agreed with local partners (post matter, post pitch and annual care). Maximize sources of referrals, such as the internal network as well as managing strategic relationships in the Middle East. Develop tailored proposals/pitches to win new work, with strong attention to detail and an ability to focus on client needs. Continue to improve pitch templates for the Middle East. Ensure strong implementation of marketing/BD systems and processes in the Middle East, including CRM, opportunity tracking, and credentials management. Help the Middle East business to identify and exploit key topics and themes of interest to targets. through a wide variety of channels suited to the region. Manage priority legal directory submissions for the Middle East, including planning, drafting and submitting, with required partner involvement and sign-off. Manage and drive all communications channels for the Middle East such as PR, the website, social media, events, with a focus on activities that can add real value. Write compelling written marketing materials and ensure consistent use. Help the Middle East business fully leverage the TransMax network and resources. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. At least 4 years of business development and marketing experience in a professional services environment likely to produce an outstanding professional who can deliver transformational change. Partnership experience helpful. Confidence and experience to advise senior partners alongside strong follow-through, execution and delivery. Commercial sense to understand the needs and expectations of the Middle East business, market, clients and other significant local law firms. Strong team work and collaboration skills. Proven ability to communicate successfully, both in writing and verbally, with attention to detail. Demonstrated problem solving skills to find and deliver solutions and overcome obstacles. Strong sense of ownership, taking individual responsibility for achievement of results. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects to achieve results and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
